| Last night, I was up in my room when I hear my dad call my name, he came up to my room and gave me the phone and said "it's a government official" At first I didn't believe him, but he was right. When I took the phone the voice started talking, the voice never seemed to take a breath and I was contemplating hanging up until it asked if i was willing to the a survey about the youth and its views on the United States Military and how it was going to affect its number of participants in the future. I then waited to see what numbers I would have to press to say yes or no . But there was none, so I just said yes. Thus began me answering how much schooling I had, part time or full time? If I had a job, part time or full time? How much school I wanted to complete? If I would ever be in the Navy ,Army, Coast Guard , Reserve ,Air force. I had choices of how I could respond, and I responded with probably not for all. Then began how supportive my family would be if I wanted to joing the military on a scale of one to seven. Next did I approve of the Bush Administration handling of troops in Iraq. Did I approve of the Bush Administration and how it handled it's foreign affairs. The lady on the phone asked many more questions, she even laughed at some of my answers. Although the lady was nice, I kept thinking in the back of my head, maybe they're creating some secretive recruiting program and are narrowing down the kind of recruits they want. So if I suddenly disappear in the future , you know why. |
